PEAK BROADCASTING Country KAWO (WOW COUNTRY 104.3)/BOISE, ID held a day of remembrance and reflection on the 10th anniversary of 9/11 in downtown BOISE. Morning show hosts RANDY and ALANA organized an event featuring boy scouts, girl scouts, various speakers from the community and an elementary school choir as they attempted to set a record for ‘Most IDAHOANS Saying the Pledge of Allegiance’ together.
The participants unfolded a huge 35 foot AMERICAN Flag, passed out thousands of red, white and blue ribbons and had the community sign a “We Will Never Forget” banner to be sent to Ground Zero.
KAWO APD DAN MATTHWES said, “While we always seem to be in pursuit of marketing and publicity, it was fulfilling to hold an event that was strictly for the community. We were overwhelmed to see so many of our friends and neighbors dedicate time out of their weekend to remember the victims and honor the heroes of SEPTEMBER 11th.”
