LOCAL MEDIA OF AMERICA Rhythmic Oldies XHRM (MAGIC 92.5)/SAN DIEGO PD and FUSION RADIO NETWORKS Pres. R! DUB shares big news for MAGIC 92.5.
Said R DUB!, "First, please welcome KEVIN 'SLOW JAMMIN' JAMES to the MAGIC family. Starting MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 26th, KEVIN will be hosting MAGIC's 'Quiet Storm,' weeknights 7p-mid. KEVIN is one of the originators of 'The Quiet Storm.' He’s known for his time hosting The original 'Quiet Storm' at WKYS and WHUR/WASHINGTON D.C. for decades, and 'The Love Affair' at KKBT (92.3 THE BEAT)/LOS ANGELES for many years. He most recently hosted the nightly 'Slow Jam' at KHHT/LOS ANGELES until last year."
"KEVIN also created and hosted the syndicated 'Love Affair' radio show and is known for his national brand of Slow Jams CDs, which went Gold, called 'The Timeless Collection,' added R DUB!. "If that’s not enough, he was even featured on several SNOOP DOGG, NATE DOGG and DOGG POUND albums, as the 'Slow Jams announcer.' KEVIN IS the Quiet Storm and I'm thrilled he will be waving the MAGIC flag. He'll be live and local, and aside from an amazing talent, is a great person to know and the definition of 'team player'."
Look for the station to be running some mysterious "KEVIN is coming" imaging on MAGIC, up until the debut of the first show on the 26th.
In other MAGIC news, TODD HIMAKA has been promoted to MD. "TODD's hard work and dedication to the station and format made him the ideal candidate for Music Director," noted R DUB!. "He will be working alongside me day to day helping handle the music responsibilities for MAGIC. TODD's first day as MD is SEPTEMBER 26th. TODD will follow KEVIN on-air, weeknights at midnight."
