WINNIPEG may have gotten its hockey team back, but CURT KEILBACK, the man who did play-by-play on radio and television for their entire run in town, never got an interview for the second go-round, reports THE WINNIPEG FREE PRESS.
"KEILBACK, who joined KEN 'FRIAR' NICOLSON in the broadcast booth at the start of the 1979-80 season, said he's both disappointed and mystified about not getting a chance to state his case," wrote the paper.
"There was no process (for me). I was never interviewed by any of the parties involved," said KEILBACK.
KEILBACK told the PRESS that "he contacted JETS owner TRUE NORTH SPORTS & ENTERTAINMENT and the radio station contracted to broadcast the games, SPORTS RADIO 1290, and had an agent represent him with TSN, which owns the radio and television broadcast rights."
