Changes are coming to CITADEL Top 40 KKOB (93.3 KOB)/ALBUQUERQUE, as PD JUSTIN RILEY names APD/MD/afternoon host CARLOS DURAN as the new morning host, replacing MIKE MACKENZIE, who left last month to launch a voiceover/imaging company in LAS VEGAS.
In a memo to the staff, RILEY states, "CARLOS will also retain his APD/MD responsibilities. I don't have to tell you what an invaluable member of the team he is ... his loyalty, desire to win and knowledge of the market made him the number one choice for this position."
Also at the station, KIKI GARCIA has re-signed to continue as Morning Show Co-Host/Traffic Reporter and DANNY VIGIL has been tapped as Morning Show Producer.
But wait, there's more! RILEY had so much fun doing morning fill-in, he's decided to get back on air full-time, replacing DURAN in afternoons. In the staff memo he adds, "His show was #1 by a landslide in the last ratings period. CARLOS, I hope I don't ruin what you've spent years building."
