Now part of CUMULUS, former CITADEL Talker WMAL-A/WASHINGTON launches an FM simulcast on sister WVRX (formerly Classic Rock 105.9 THE EDGE) TODAY at noon (ET), ALL ACCESS has learned.
“By expanding our successful brand to the FM dial, we will be a viable listening and advertising option for many more people in the WASHINGTON, D.C. area," said Pres./GM JEFF BODEN. “There are many potential listeners who never listen on AM, and we are now making programs of wide interest available to the largest possible audience."
"When we grew to 570 stations nationwide last week, after closing the CITADEL deal, I told my team to be creative at using innovative ways for the newly acquired stations to bolster our community involvement and that's what our WASHINGTON, D.C. team has done so elegantly here," said CUMULUS CEO LEW DICKEY.
The station will simulcast the entire WMAL lineup, including the local "MORNING MAJORITY" with former FOX NEWS CHANNEL anchor BRIAN WILSON with DAILY CALLER columnist MARY KATHARINE HAM and BRYAN NEHMAN and CHRIS PLANTE's show, plus PREMIERE NETWORKS' RUSH LIMBAUGH and SEAN HANNITY and CUMULUS' MARK LEVIN.
