Recap of The 5th Annual 2011 ACM Honors

The ACM (ACADEMY OF COUNTRY MUSIC) 5th ANNUAL ACM HONORS, were held last night (9/19) in front of a sold-out crowd at the RYMAN AUDITORIUM in NASHVILLE, and were hosted by SHOW DOG-UNIVERSAL MUSIC artist JOE NICHOLS.

Many artists were honored, including REBA McENTIRE, who was presented the “Career Achievement Award” by ARISTA NASHVILLE artist RONNIE DUNN. GARTH BROOKS received the “CLIFFIE STONE Pioneer Award” and thanked the crowd via video, while SEA GAYLE/ARISTA NASHVILLE artist JERROD NIEMANN and CURB/NASHVILLE artist RODNEY ATKINS performed two of BROOKS hits.

BIG MACHINE RECORDS artist TAYLOR SWIFT received the “JIM REEVES International Award” by the CEO of the ACM’s BOB ROMEO. The “Poet’s Award” was given to TOM T. HALL and the late HANK COCHRAN. Longtime TV and radio personality RALPH EMERY presented the award to TOM T. HALL and COCHRAN’s widow SUSI COCHRAN accepted the award on HANK’s behalf. The “MAE VOREN ASTON Award” was given to JOHN DORRIS by JOHN MICHAEL MONTGOMERY.

HLN host ROBIN MEADE presented the industry awards, while MERCURY/NASHVILLE artist LAURA BELL BUNDY presented the MBI Awards, which were given to the following people:
