ENTERCOM Hot AC WZPL/INDIANAPOLIS has discovered a new local musical sensation thanks to The SMILEY Morning Show's "Open Mic Minute." The segment offers artists one minute to win over the judges with their musical ability, comedy, yodeling, beat-boxing, or any other talent.
On WEDNESDAY, JULY 27th, 16-year-old high-schooler KELLY TAYLOR came to the studios with her guitar and amazed the listeners and the morning show with her pure vocal abilities. "When KELLY performed with SMILEY, I was in my office and I literally did a double-take at my radio," WZPL PD JR AMMONS said. "Not only does KELLY have a great voice, but the song she was singing, 'Classics,' was amazing. There are a lot of great voices, but it was the combination of KELLY’s voice and a really terrific song that stood out for me. I asked her to record it because I wanted to play it -- I loved it that much!"
TAYLOR has since recorded a studio version of "Classics," which debuted during The SMILEY Morning Show on FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 16th. TAYLOR said, "This is waaay exciting! I can barely sit still. I came to school and they had apparently played the whole [SMILEY Morning] show over the intercom! My whole high school heard it!"
KELLY TAYLOR’s song, "Classics," is available on iTUNES. For more information about KELLY, go to http://www.reverbnation.com/kellytaylormusic.
