DICK BROADCASTING Top 40 WKZL (KZL 107.5)/GREENSBORO APD/middayer MIKE KLEIN checks in with good ol' ALL ACCESS to share a touching story about a town's obsession with recently-booted AMERICAN IDOL crooner CHRIS DAUGHTRY. Seems GREENSBORO is so shocked and saddened by DAUGHTRY's fall from reality show grace that nearly the entire town has rallied to let him know they care.
The station has created a giant "get well soon"-type postcard for CHRIS, and has collected nearly 6,000 signatures on it thus far. Additionally, the station's website has a "Get Chris Back Up On American Idol!" petition posted, and that thing has gathered over 26,000 signatures at this point, proof positive that our entire country has finally gone irrevocably insane.
KLEIN tells us that he'll be out all weekend in the trusty station van, collecting more signatures for the postcard and the petition. For its part, ALL ACCESS will be busy drowning its post-DAUGHTRY sorrows in beer, cigarettes, and ample, ample bosoms.
