CLEAR CHANNEL/JACKSONVILLE has named KRIS ABRAMS as OM. ABRAMS will also act as PD for Country WQIK (99.1 JACKSONVILLE'S COUNTRY. This marks a return to JACKSONVILLE for ABRAMS, who previously programmed WIVY (COAST 102.9) in 1993 and 1994. ABRAMS joins from GREATER MEDIA Hot AC WLNK/CHARLOTTE and THE BOB & SHERI RADIO NETWORK.
The CLEAR CHANNEL cluster includes Urban AC WSOL (V101-5), Country WQIK, Top 40 WNWW (RADIO NOW), Urban WJBT (THE BEAT), Classic Hits WJGH and Sports WFXJ-A.
"KRIS is an incredible addition to our programming team. His leadership, passion and vision are keys to helping some of the top stations in JACKSONVILLE get even stronger," said VP/Market Manager AARON WILBORN.
"Getting back to JACKSONVILLE and partnering with GM AARON WILBORN and the programming team on the CLEAR CHANNEL cluster is an amazing opportunity. We have well resourced, dynamic brands that are well positioned for growth," said ABRAMS. "QIK has decades of heritage as JACKSONVILLE's Country Station, THE BEAT and V101-5 combo is an urban stronghold, RADIO NOW is filled with 'hit music for adults,' MAGIC is early in its Classic Hits development with a lot of room for growth, and 930 THE FOX is positioned to become the 'go to spot for sports' -- that makes a powerful cluster."
WILBORN adds, "I couldn’t be happier with the decision to bring KRIS in as our new Operations Manager. He fits the mold of everything we are building here in JACKSONVILLE."
ABRAMS' first day will be THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 29th.
