REACH MEDIA’s syndicated TOM JOYNER MORNING SHOW celebrates the culmination of the 10th anniversary of “TAKE A LOVED ONE TO THE DOCTOR DAY” on FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 30th with a series of live broadcasts. The show airs from 6 -10a with a series of live screenings from ATLANTA, DALLAS, DETROIT, WASHINGTON and NEW YORK. Each city will offer a wide range of health screenings ranging from diabetes testing, free flu shots, free massages, hearing and vision tests, fitness demonstrations and wellness seminars.
The nationwide health initiative was started by JOYNER in 2002 and is designed to reduce the health disparity between African-Americans and the general population. “It is very important that people begin to take their health more seriously especially in the African-American community,” said JOYNER. “Minority groups are affected in a greater way by many health related illnesses. The 'Take A Loved One To The Doctor Day' seeks to not only increase health awareness, but to save lives by educating minority communities about pro-active care measures.”
