SPANISH BROADCASTING SYSTEM Regional Mexican WRAZ (CIMA 106.3)/LEISURE CITY-MIAMI has inked a deal to be the Spanish-language flagship for UNIVERSITY OF MIAMI sports, including all football games and most men's basketball games, plus at least five women's basketball games. PEPE "CHAMBY" CAMPOS and JOSE "JUDGE" MARTINEZ will call the action.
"SBS was the right partner for UM Athletics because of their expansive reach on multiple stations in the market, as well as their firm and fervent commitment to the MIAMI HURRICANES fan base," said UM Dir./Athletics SHAWN EICHORST. "We have a long & proud tradition on Spanish radio that stretches back to SAM JANKOVICH's era as AD and we firmly believe SBS will help expand our brand to new heights."
"We are excited about the relationship with The UNIVERSITY OF MIAMI and I am sure the Hispanic community appreciates the commitment UM is making to reach out to those whose first language is Spanish," said SBS Chief Revenue Officer ALBERT RODRIGUEZ.
"We are thrilled to be the broadcast home of the CANES' athletic events," said SBS NSM of MIAMI, NEW YORK and PUERTO RICO BERRY JASIN. "Partnering with our hometown university sports team makes sense for our listeners and for CIMA 106.3 FM-WRAZ. Adding sports to our lineup compliments our other programming, enhances the experience for loyal fans and attracts new listeners. We could not be prouder of our association with The UNIVERSITY OF MIAMI Athletics Department."
