The CRTC has denied TRUST COMMUNICATIONS MINISTRIES' application to increase the power of Contemporary Christian CJLF (LIFE 100.3)/BARRIE's OWEN SOUND, ON transmitter CJLF-FM-1 from 75 to 780 watts. The agency said that the station had not demonstrated compelling economic or technical evidence that the power increase was necessary.
The commission did approve LE5 COMMUNICATIONS' application to increase the power of French Hot AC CHYC (LE LOUP 98.9)/SUDBURY, ON from 1,400 to 4.620 watts.
And DUFFERIN COMMUNICATIONS has applied to move its CIRR (PRIDE 103.9)/TORONTO, targeted at the city's gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender population, from 103.9 to 88.1 FM, which has opened a window for competing applications for a new TORONTO station. Applications will be due by DECEMBER 19th.
