CORUS Talk CHQR-A (QR77)/CALGARY has inked a five-year renewal deal to continue as the flagship station for CALGARY STAMPEDERS CFL football, taking the partnership through the 2017 season. QR77 has been the home of the STAMPS for 20 years.
"We're thrilled that our strong relationship with Corus continues with this new deal," said STAMPEDERS President/COO LYLE BAUER. "QR77 is in a class of its own when it comes to broadcasting CFL football. I know our fans would agree with that."
"Our listeners associate QR77 with STAMPEDER football and we couldn't be more pleased that this will continue to be the case," said QR77 PD JOHN VOS. "The entire QR77 team is proud of the work that has been done and looks forward to six more years with the STAMPS."
"We are excited to add another five years of STAMPEDERS coverage onto our existing term as we continue to provide our listeners and football fans with exclusive coverage of every summer and fall STAMPEDER game," said CORUS RADIO ALBERTA VP/GM DOUG RUTHERFORD. "Being part of a storied CALGARY team with strong community ties, history and tradition is a perfect partnership between QR77 and the STAMPS."
