CUMULUS' silent WQKC-A/JEFFERSONVILLE, IN-LOUISVILLE has returned to the air with a Sports format provided by LOUISVILLE SPORTS BUZZ, which has been providing a daily show to crosstown CLEAR CHANNEL Talk WKJK-A. "1450 THE SPORTS BUZZ" features local shows "THE MORNING SPORTS BUZZ WITH GREG BROHM" and "THE AFTERNOON BUZZ" hosted by SAM SWOPE, plus FOX SPORTS RADIO/DIRECTV's DAN PATRICK, SPORTS USA's JOE MORGAN, and YAHOO! SPORTS RADIO; the station promises "surprise" local programming to come. ROB JONES is serving as Director of Programming.
“I am very excited to bring another option to sports fans in the area and thrilled with the possibilities as we embark on this new journey” said GM DUGAN RYAN. “The opportunities we have to offer KENTUCKIANA are endless.”
WQKC was taken silent by CUMULUS in AUGUST 2010 and put up for sale; at the time, CUMULUS co-COO LEW DICKEY said that the company planned to sell the facility to a noncommercial operator, and later sold Classic Hits WLCL, also taken dark at the time, to WAY-FM MEDIA GROUP.
