BUCK OWENS PRODUCTION has launched a new Adult Hits station in BAKERSFIELD, turning on KRJK on 97.3 at 3p last THURSDAY as JACK FM. As always with the format, there are no local disc jockeys on the station, whose programming and branding is licensed and marketed by SPARKNET COMMUNICATIONS.
BUCK OWENS CEO MEL OWENS told BAKERSFIELD.COM that "he likes local disc jockeys and wouldn't rule out adding one in the future, but for the moment JACK FM will customize the station during breaks with local content such as area activities."
"The disc jockeys aren't the focal point of the JACK FM format," OWENS said. "It's the music that they focus on."
Earlier SPARKNET COMMUNICATIONS has gotten its JACK FM format on RADIO ONE WJYD/COLUMBUS, OH and CROWNELL GROUP WEJT/DECATUR, IL. JACK FM is now live on 47 stations in the U.S. "SPARKNET continues to grow the JACK brand both in the U.S. and internationally," SPARKNET COMMUNICATIONS Co-Pres. PAT BOHN said. "We would like to say a big 'THANK YOU' to our partners."
"In true commitment to our brand, we have added the additional support of research and consulting from P1 RESEARCH headed by KEN BENSON," he continued. "This will further our belief of maintaining strong business relationships with our partners."
