JOHNNIE WILDER, former lead singer and co-founder of the group HEATWAVE, died SATURDAY 5/13 at his home in CLAYTON, OHIO, just out side of DAYTON. HEATWAVE was best known for and had several top ten R&B and Top-40 charted hits in the 1970’s, with songs such as “BOOGIE NIGHTS” and “ALWAYS AND FOREVER.” WILDER’s career suffered a setback following a traffic accident in 1979 which left him paralyzed from the neck down. He was 56.
