Condolences to the family and friends of MIKEY WELSH, the former bassist for the band WEEZER, who died SATURDAY (10/8), according to the band. He was 40.
The band tweeted, "We are shocked and deeply saddened to hear the awful news, our friend and fellow weez rocker @mikeywelsh71 has passed away. We love u MIKEY."
The cause of death was not immediately known.
