PANIC! AT THE DISCO singer BRENDON URIE was ill and couldn’t perform last SATURDAY (10/8) at SIMMONS MEDIA Alternative KXRK/SALT LAKE CITY's "X96 BIG ASS SHOW," but the band played on anyway. Bassist (and UTAH native) DALLON WEEKES took the vocals for the opening number and then announced a series of guest vocalists to complete the set. Among them was 17 year-old UTAH singer-songwriter BROGAN KELBY, who performed "The Ballad Of Mona Lisa" in front of approximately 8,000 people.
"It was an amazing day," said KELBY. "Fortunately, my band and I had been jamming to that song since it came out, and I was able to do a quick rehearsal with PANIC! AT THE DISCO."
KELBY's song "Who Cares" is currently in rotation at X96. It's from his debut album, Sky Lights, with producer BRANDEN STEINECKERT of RANCID.
