Dixie Chicks, Willie Nelson, George Strait Raise $500,000 For Texas Wildfire Victims

The DIXIE CHICKS, WILLIE NELSON, GEORGE STRAIT, and LYLE LOVETT performed yesterday (10/17) in AUSTIN, TX during the FIRE RELIEF: THE CONCERT FOR CENTRAL TEXAS benefit, which raised over $500,000 for victims of recent wildfires. All proceeds benefited the CENTRAL TEXAS WILDFIRE FUND at the AUSTIN COMMUNITY FOUNDATION.
According to CBS NEWS, NELSON was joined onstage by THE AVETT BROTHERS, and he was backed up by ASLEEP AT THE WHEEL.
DIXIE CHICKS lead singer NATALIE MAINES told the crowd, “When they called us to do this show, there was zero hesitation. You can take the girl out of TEXAS, but you can't take TEXAS out of the girl."
