CRTC OKs New BC Station, Retransmitter for Alberta AM

The CRTC has approved CORTES COMMUNITY RADIO SOCIETY's application for a new English-language community FM station at CORTES ISLAND, BC.  The new station will use 80 watts at 89.5 FM.

The agency also approved PEACE RIVER BROADCASTING CORPORATION LTD.'s application for a new rebroadcasting transmitter at MANNING, AB for its Country CKYL-A/PEACE RIVER, AB.  The new transmitter will be at 93.3 FM with 880 watts.

However, JEAN-NOEL ALLAIN's application for a new predominantly English-language FM at BOUCTOUCHE, NB has been rejected by the Commission.
