Longtime CLEVELAND sportscaster BRUCE DRENNAN pleaded guilty to income tax evasion in U.S. District Court TUESDAY. The CLEVELAND PLAIN DEALER reports that DRENNAN, most recently at SPORTSTALKCLEVELAND.COM but better known for hosting talk shows at Sports WKNR-A and Talk WTAM-A/CLEVELAND and calling INDIANS and CAVALIERS games in past seasons, entered a plea bargain that will have him serving five months in prison and five months under house arrest.
The charges against DRENNAN arose from sports bets the host admitted in court that he made between 2000 and 2005 through DAVID HAMMON JR., who is serving a two year gambling and tax evasion sentence.
