MINNESOTA PUBLIC RADIO Triple A KCMP (THE CURRENT)/MINNEAPOLIS and FORDHAM UNIVERSITY Triple A WFUV/NEW YORK will swap songs from hometown artists in "The Music Exchange," which is THE CURRENT's ongoing project to share emerging music from different scenes around the country.WFUV MD/DJ RITA HOUSTON and 89.3 THE CURRENT's MARK WHEAT will unveil new music and commentary -- on air and online -- throughout the week OCTOBER 24th-28th, 2011.
"The Music Exchange is such a cool concept," HOUSTON said. "I love collaborating with other DJs and it's so important to support our local music scenes."
"RITA loves to go out to shows and has long been a champion of ecelctic music and great artists," WHEAT added. "Our listeners will be treated to an industry veteran picking tunes from their ever-evolving scene today. It's definitely worth checking out."
WFUV has chosen five bands from NEW YORK to feature on THE CURRENT at 6p CT, OCT. 24th-28th, while THE CURRENT has hand-picked five bands from MINNEAPOLIS/ST. PAUL to highlight on WFUV at 7:30p ET, OCT. 24th-28th.
