MORTENSON BROADCASTING's MBC OF TEXAS-KRVA, INC. is selling brokered Ethnic KRVA-A/COCKRELL HILL-DALLAS-FT. WORTH, TX to CHARLES S. KIM's PACIFICSTAR MEDIA II CORPORATION for $1.4 million.
In other filings with the FCC, HEREFORD BROADCASTING, LLC is selling Regional Mexican KJNZ (LA LEY 103.5)/HEREFORD, TX to CHEERS MEDIA, INC. for $75,000 cash, release of two promissory notes for $9,883.03 and $249,379.98, and a promissory note for 72 payments of $4,500 each, plus a time brokerage agreement before closing.
CUMULUS LICENSING LLC has applied for a Silent STA for KSTB/CRYSTAL BEACH-HOUSTON, TX, saying that the station's temporary very-low-power facility "is unsatisfactory and has been discontinued" while the company looks for another site. KSTB's original facility was destroyed by Hurricane IKE.
BETTER PUBLIC BROADCASTING ASSOCIATION has requested a Silent STA for KLXL/WHEELER, TX while the station is repaired after a lightning strike.
And CUMULUS spin-off trust VOLT RADIO, LLC has been granted a change in community of license of Triple A KYNF (KRUZ @ 94.9) from PRAIRIE GROVE, AR to CEDARVILLE, AR. The move, made in conjunction with the move of CUMULUS Top 40 KMCK (POWER 105.7)/SILOAM SPRINGS, AR to PRAIRIE GROVE, takes KYNF out of the FAYETTEVILLE, AR market and will allow CUMULUS to take the station back and regain ownership without violating ownership restrictions. The application did not propose to change the station's physical facility other than a one-second correction in the station's longitude.
