HENRY MOWRY has joined SMARTS BROADCAST SYSTEMS as Dir./Marketing.
Said MOWRY, "Perhaps you’ve heard of SMARTS? JOHN SCHAD, the founder, started writing software for his KEMB/EMMETSBURG, IA back in the '70s, and then took SMARTS independent in 1983 -- because broadcasters wanted to buy his software. He soon sold the station and expanded the software business; the first automation system was called 'Smartcaster.' Today, we’ve got the only LINUX-based automation system, called SKYLLA. Our traffic system is used nationwide. Our SMARTTOUCH telephone control system is helping broadcasters host special events without an in-studio producer. There was even a broadcaster that literally drove down main street to find police activity surrounding a bank robbery, dialed up his SMARTTOUCH, and took his station live as he broadcast over his cellphone throughout the robbery and subsequent bomb threat. Live and local, indeed!"
