Fox Nabs FIFA World Cup TV, Radio Rights In 2015-2022

The deal by which FOX obtained the television rights to the FIFA WORLD CUP for men's finals in 2018 and 2022 and women's finals in 2015 and 2019 includes English-language radio rights for the U.S. Spanish-language radio rights in the U.S. remained with ANDRES CANTOR's FUTBOL DE PRIMERA RADIO.
FOX reportedly paid $425 million for the rights, running from 2015 through 2022, while COMCAST/NBC UNIVERSAL's TELEMUNDO scored Spanish-language TV rights for a reported $600 million. FOX takes over from ESPN and TELEMUNDO takes over from UNIVISION in airing the matches.
