CLEAR CHANNEL Talk WTVN-A/COLUMBUS, OH morning host BOB CONNERS has announced that he will exit the station after his NOVEMBER 30th broadcast. CONNERS joined WTVN in 1964 and took over mornings in 1978; he previously worked in SAN DIEGO, BUFFALO, ERIE and PITTSBURGH. JOEL RILEY will fill in as interim morning show host starting on DECEMBER 1st.
"BOB CONNERS is an institution in COLUMBUS and a true professional. He has been a familiar and comforting voice for WTVN listeners for decades," said Market Manager BRIAN DYTKO. "We have been blessed to have him on our team and will miss his informative and entertaining views every morning."
"BOB CONNERS has been a staple in COLUMBUS radio for a very long time, consider the mold broken" said PD MIKE ELLIOTT. "BOB always said 'Radio has been good to me,' but BOB CONNERS was good for radio."
"I'm honored and humbled to have been allowed to do what I love for so long," said CONNERS. "Thank you."
