CHET-5 Triple A WDST (RADIO WOODSTOCK)/POUGHKEEPSIE doubled its take for breast cancer research this year. The station’s annual REQUEST-A-TON and other PINK OCTOBER fundraising efforts brought in a grand total of $100,968 in fundraising dollars for clinical breast cancer research at the DYSON CENTER FOR CANCER CARE AT VASSAR BROTHER MEDICAL CENTER in POUGHKEEPSIE, NY.
In its 13th year, RADIO WOODSTOCK listeners stepped up to the plate by pledging donations for on-air requests, bidding on collectibles and attending three PINK OCTOBER benefit concerts featuring NATALIE MERCHANT and the INDIGO GIRLS.
"The success was beyond our wildest expectations," said RADIO WOODSTOCK Pres. GARY CHETKOF. "Despite these tough economic times, the generosity of the listeners, volunteers, sponsors and artists took our breath away. We could not feel prouder and or more honored to make this contribution to the highly esteemed DYSON CENTER FOR CANCER CARE."
