ALL ACCESS hears that the layoffs at the former CITADEL stations taken over by CUMULUS have reached CHICAGO.
Classic Hits WLS-F Operations Dir. MICHAEL LA CROSSE has apparently exited the building; his FACEBOOK page features the status update, "Thanks to everyone at 94.7 WLS. It was a great experience and I'm happy to have had the chance to work with you." LA CROSSE served as PD at the station from DECEMBER 2006 to JANUARY 2010 and as Operations Director since then; his previous stops included serving as APD/MD and in the promotions and production departments at crosstown WNUA.
Late TUESDAY, TIME OUT CHICAGO's ROBERT FEDER added the names of Talk WLS-A afternoon "ROE AND ROEPER" Executive Producer JOCK HEDBLADE and morning "DON WADE AND ROMA Executive Producer ZACK CHRISTENSON; and WLS-F afternoon GREG BROWN Show producer CHRIS PAPENDICK to the list among a total of nine layoffs. In addition, Operations Director DREW HAYES will concentrate on WLS-A and will drop oversight of sister Talk WMAL-A/WASHINGTON, working with WLS-A PD TRACY SLUTZKIN. FEDER reports that at WLS-F, LA CROSSE's duties are expected to be assumed by corporate SVP of Programming JAN JEFFRIES, who has relocated to CHICAGO.
