To little surprise in the market, former CUMULUS Sports WGFX (104.5 THE ZONE)/NASHVILLE afternoon co-host WILLY DAUNIC has joined crosstown THE CROMWELL GROUP Sports upstart WPRT (102.5 THE GAME). THE TENNESSEAN reports that DAUNIC, who left THE ZONE after hos contract expired and the station and he could not reach a new agreement, will host "THE REVOLUTION" in the same 3-7p slot in which he and GEORGE PLASTER, who also left THE ZONE, hosted at THE ZONE.
DAUNIC, a former VANDERBILT basketball player and minor league baseball player in the TORONTO BLUE JAYS organization had been with the ZONE since AUGUST 2003. PLASTER is presently sitting out a noncompete and neither PLASTER nor DAUNIC would comment when asked by THE TENNESSEAN whether PLASTER would join the new show when free to do so.
