President OBAMA has nominated Democrat JESSICA ROSENWORCEL and Republican AJIT PAI to serve as Commissioners at the FCC.
ROSENWORCEL, Senate Commerce Committee senior communications counsel, would fill the seat being vacated at the end of the year by MICHAEL COPPS, for whom she served as an aide in 2003-07.
PAI, an attorney at JENNER AND BLOCK LLP and a former Deputy General Counsel at the FCC, is being nominated for the seat left open with the resignation earlier this year of MEREDITH ATTWELL BAKER.
Hearings to confirm ROSENWORCEL and PAI have yet to be scheduled.
In response to President BARACK OBAMA nominating JESSICA ROSENWORCEL and AJIT PAI to the FEDERAL COMMUNICATIONS COMMISSION, NAB Pres./CEO GORDON SMITH said, "NAB congratulates AJIT PAI and JESSICA ROSENWORCEL -- two talented individuals with a commitment to public service -- for their nomination to the FCC."
