WPTR Oldies Format Ending Next Week

DJRD BROADCASTING Pres. DON CRAWFORD JR. has sent an email to Oldies WPTR/ALBANY, NY listeners that  "weighty, financial demands" are forcing the cancellation of the "New Legends" format on FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 11th, RADIO INSIGHT reports. "Trust me when I say that we are crushed by the fact that we are obligated to do this," he wrote. "Trust me when I say that it is however categorically beyond our control."
   
The format will live on at mynewlegends.com, with on-air host MARK SHUTTLEWORTH on board. That hasn't mollified some of the station's fans on FACEBOOK, however.

As far as WPTE goes, the most popular rumor concerns a flip back to some sort of a Christian music format.
