LINCOLN Top 40 WSTR (STAR 94)/ATLANTA is bringing live music back to midtown this SUMMER with STAR 94's "STAR FEST" -- a one-day, two-stage, outdoor music festival to be located in the heart of midtown amongst the new development in ATLANTIC STATION this summer. It's set for SATURDAY, JULY 22, and it's co-presented by BELLSOUTH and BUD LIGHT.
"STAR FEST" features TRAIN, PINK, NICKEL CREEK, AQUALUNG, MAT KEARNEY AND THE WHIGS. There will also be another 8-10 bands playing on a locals stage.
STAR 94 PD DAN BOWEN said, "With a city the size of ATLANTA, it is sad to see large outdoor events come and go. STAR FEST is ready to fill that void. We are looking forward to showcasing some of today’s hottest national talent that you would hear on STAR 94's airwaves as well as spotlight some of the emerging artists in our own backyard."
Next Big Thing Showcase
Meanwhile, STAR 94 has announced the NEXT BIG THING SHOWCASE, on JUNE 2nd at TABERNACLE starring JAMES BLUNT, KT TUNSTALL, and BO BICE an intimate storyteller's-style accoustic concert unlike anything ever done in ATLANTA. The NEXT BIG THING SHOWCASE is based on a concept that STAR 94 began last FALL to highlight new music and artist on the air. STAR 94 MD MICHAEL CHASE told ALL ACCESS, "The NEXT BIG THING SHOWCASE tickets are going fast -- and it's almost sold out."
