A LOS ANGELES jury has found DR. CONRAD MURRAY guilty of involuntary manslaughter in the death of pop superstar MICHAEL JACKSON. JACKSON's death on JUNE 25th, 2009, was caused by "acute propofol intoxication" in combination with two sedatives, according to the L.A. COUNTRY CORONER.
CNN reports that the jury, comprised of seven men and five women, heard 49 witnesses from medical experts and investigators to JACKSON's former employees and MURRAY's patients.
The prosecution asserted that MURRAY was responsible for JACKSON's death because he authorized the use of propofol to treat JACKSON's insomnia -- and even gave him the final dose. Defense lawyers claimed JACKSON could have injected himself and that the matter is a negligence case that should instead be heard by the state medical board.
More details to come.
