Apparently, everyone missed the memo that radio stations can only flip to all-CHRISTMAS music if they do it two at a time in the same market. In BEANTOWN, both CBS RADIO Classic Hits WODS and GREATER MEDIA Classic Hits WROR both hang out the mistletoe and start playing holiday music.
WODS flipped to all-CHRISTMAS music at 5a this morning (11/11), and is continuing with its "Ho Ho Dough" contest, giving listeners a chance to win $103 in cash when they play "SANTA CLAUS is Coming To Town."
WROR flipped shortly thereafter, and is positioned as playing "BOSTON's Favorite CHRISTMAS songs!"
In MILWAUKEE, ENTERCOM Hot AC AC WMYX and CLEAR CHANNEL Oldies WRIT flipped to all-holiday hits within an hour of each other.
ALL ACCESS is keeping track of all the stations who have flipped to CHRISTMAS music with SANTA'S 2011 BIG CHRISTMAS MUSIC LIST here.
