WEAZ, INC AC WBEB (B101-FM)/PHILADELPHIA is joining forces with NBC 10, MERCEDES-BENZ, BOSCOV’S, VWR INTERNATIONAL and THE SALVATION ARMY for the 2011 Stockings for Kids toy drive. The program, which collects toys for children in need throughout the PHILADELPHIA region, runs through DECEMBER 22nd.
Nearly 30,000 toy-filled stockings are filled and donated each year. Interested participants can order stockings through DECEMBER 12th at b101radio.com. Filled holiday stockings, as well as new unwrapped toys, can be dropped off at participating MERCEDES-BENZ and BOSCOV’S locations. At the end of the program, morning duo TIFFANY HILL and MICHAEL CHEW will lead a group of B101 staff members that will distribute the toys to families at THE SALVATION ARMY headquarters in PHILADELPHIA.
"I’ve always believed that broadcasters have a responsibility to give back to the communities and listeners that support them," B101 owner JERRY LEE said. "The Stockings for Kids Program is a wonderful opportunity for our station to be involved and have a positive impact on thousands of families’ holidays every year."
