CRTC OKs Several Power Increases, Moves

NEWCAP has received CRTC approval for a power increase and antenna move for CKXG-FM-1/GRAND FALLS, NL a rebroadcasting transmitter for Classic Rock CKXG (102.3 K-ROCK)/GRAND FALLS. The rebroadcaster will increase from 40 to 50 watts at a new site in LEWISPORTE, NL.
Also getting a power boost and new tower site is SEASIDE BROADCASTING ORGANIZATION, with its Easy Listening CFEP (105.9 SEASIDE FM)/EASTERN PASSAGE, NS going from 716 to 1,680 watts.
ASTRAL MEDIA has gotten CRTC approval for moving the transmitter for Country CFQX (QX104)/SELKIRK, MB from a site west of SELKIRK to a site south of town. The move is intended to improve the station's signal in WINNIPEG.
NORTHWOODS BROADCASTING LTD. has received approval for the move of its CFOB-1/ATIKOKAN, ON to move from AM to 95.9 FM. The station rebroadcasts AC CFOB (B-93)/FORT FRANCES, ON.
And MARITIME BROADCASTING SYSTEM LTD. has received CRTC approval for a new AM at DIGBY, NS. The company is converting an existing radio communication distribution undertaking at 1420 AM to commercial use with a Country format.
