UNIVERSAL MUSIC GROUP DISTRIBUTION (UMGD) has announced a ground-breaking sales program for the all-important BLACK FRIDAY sales week designed to give physical and digital retailers the opportunity to offer the consumer current hits and catalog bestsellers at a sharply reduced price.
A $6.99 price point will be put on current titles by such artists as JUSTIN BIEBER, LADY GAGA, EMINEM, MAROON 5 and LIL WAYNE. Physical retailers will be able to offer a $4.99 price on catalog greatest hits selections from such top-selling artists as GUNS ‘N ROSES, ANDREA BOCELLI and STEVIE WONDER; digital retailers will have the opportunity to offer a $5.99 retail price on those catalog items.
This special sales campaign is the most comprehensive BLACK FRIDAY program ever offered to physical, download and online music retailers.
"BLACK FRIDAY and CYBER MONDAY have become two of the biggest sale periods for music retailers, and we wanted to create a dynamic program that would allow our customers to maximize volume on a wide variety of our product while retaining a strong margin," UMGD EVP/GM CANDACE BERRY stated.
