SOCIETY OF LEADERS IN DEVELOPMENT (SOLID) teamed up with NASHVILLE SPORTS LEAGUES and 12 MUSIC ROW companies in NASHVILLE to collect nearly 2,700 pounds of nonperishable food items for SECOND HARVEST FOOD BANK OF MIDDLE TENNESSEE and ST. JUDE CHILDREN’S RESEARCH HOSPITAL with a pre-THANKSGIVING TURKEY BOWL flag football tournament held at TED RHODES PARK on SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 19th.
CAPITOL RECORDS was the tournament winner, and UNIVERSAL MUSIC GROUP TOOK first place in the consolation bracket. Other participating teams included APA, CAA, CAPITOL RECORDS, CMT, EMI PUBLISHING, FLOOD, BUMSTEAD, MCCREADY & MCCARTHY, PARADIGM, SESAC, SONY, UNIVERSAL MUSIC GROUP (UMG), WILLIAM MORRIS ENDEAVOR ENTERTAINMENT (WMEE) and WARNER MUSIC NASHVILLE.
SOLID challenged the teams to a “SECOND HARVEST HEAVYWEIGHT FOOD CHALLENGE” competition with a pre-tournament food drive, awarding the top team with a first round bye in the tournament. CAA led the drive, donating more than 680 pounds of food to SECOND HARVEST.
“SOLID is happy to host this tournament in its 26th year. We love seeing the competition and camaraderie come out between these companies that work together so closely on MUSIC ROW. We are thankful a little healthy competition means lots of food donations for SECOND HARVEST,” said SOLID President IAN WOLCZYK.
SOLID will also donate approximately $2,000 to ST. JUDE from funds raised from team entry fees.
