OCONEE RIVER BROADCASTING has signed on WHEL (THE NEW 105-1)/HELEN, GA after several months following the station's sale from CLEAR CHANNEL to SORENSON RADIO SOUTHEAST (ONONEE is operating the station through an LMA). The station will allow listeners to vote online (www.TheNew1051.com) for what format they’d like the station to be, with the leading vote-getting format at any given time is the format on the air. Whichever format is the leading vote-getter as of JUNE 1st at 1:05p will be the format the station takes.
OCONEE RIVER Pres. KJ ALLEN will serve as the station’s GM, and joining him as managing partner is BENJI KURTZ, who will continue his duties as VP/Operations for RADIO STRATEGIES CONSULTANTS and digital distribution site NewMusicServer.com.
