The SAN DIEGO PADRES and BROADCAST COMPANY OF THE AMERICAS have agreed on a one-year contract extension to keep the NATIONAL LEAGUE club on Sports XEPRS-A (XX 1090)/SAN DIEGO for the 2012 season. JERRY COLEMAN, TED LEITNER, and ANDY MASUR return to call the action, joined by former major leaguer BOB SCANLAN, who will split color commentary duties with COLEMAN.
"We are pleased to be able to renew our partnership with BCA," said PADRES Pres./COO TOM GARFINKEL. "XX 1090 offers some of the finest sports programming in our region, and it remains the best home for PADRES content, including game broadcasts."
"We have enjoyed our proud eight-year association with the SAN DIEGO PADRES and look forward to bringing our loyal fans and long-time listeners a renewed commitment to our outstanding coverage of Spring Training and the regular season for 2012," said XX 1090 VP/GM TEX MEYER. "XX 1090 AM has been widely recognized for consistency of broadcasting excellence of the PADRES, and this new opportunity allows us to maintain our ongoing performance on their behalf."
