Condolences to family and friends of longtime NORTH GEORGIA station owner JOHN W. JACOBS JR., who died WEDNESDAY (11/23), five days short of his 89th birthday, following a stroke suffered on the previous SATURDAY, according to the GAINESVILLE TIMES.
JACOBS was the founder of WDUN-A/GAINESVILLE, GA in 1949 and built JACOBS MEDIA around the station, adding more radio stations, the GAINESVILLE TRIBUNE weekly newspaper, a travel agency and ACCESSNORTHGEORGIA.COM.
