Longtime CLEAR CHANNEL Hot AC KIOI (STAR 101.3)/SAN FRANCISCO morning fixture DON BLEU will be crossing the hallway to do mornings on sister Oldies KKSF. After over 22 years at 101.3 FM, BLEU will start his new gig on JANUARY 3rd, 2012.
"The change is designed to bring the enormous talent, enthusiasm and fan base of DON BLEU to Oldies 103.7 and propel the station into a market-leading position alongside the rest of our FM stations," Pres./Market Manager J.D. FREEMAN explained. "When we launched Oldies, part of our long-term vision was creating a marquee morning show and DON is the perfect person to do that."
"We’re excited to bring such a huge name and talent to our newest FM station," Dir./Operations DON PARKER added. "DON BLEU is in a class of his own and I’m thrilled to have him be the catalyst in establishing another heritage SAN FRANCISCO brand for decades to come!"
"Wow! What a run" BLEU exclaimed. "Thanks to every one of those fans over the past 22 years at 101.3. Now I’m like MEG WHITMAN going from EBAY to HP. Hopefully, I'll be the final piece in building another historic station at 103.7. Get ready for BEATLES and BLEU!"
PARKER added, "DON BLEU leaves enormous shoes to fill on KIOI and we expect to announce the next phase of mornings on STAR soon.
