CHICAGO BLACKHAWKS left wing DANIEL CARCILLO will host a show for the team's flagship, Talk WGN-A/CHICAGO, with the first edition airing FRIDAY (12/2) at 11p (CT) following the HAWKS-ISLANDERS game broadcast. "THE BOMB SHELTER" will focus on CARCILLO's musical interests, including song clips, musical history, personal anecdotes and special guests, starting with his father GINO. Future episodes will be scheduled later in the season for airing after selected weekend home games.
"DANIEL is such an interesting, multi-faceted person and this show will be a great way for fans to see a completely different side of his personality," said WGN VP/GM TOM LANGMYER. "He's a natural in the studio and his love of music, radio, playing drums, learning guitar and exploring CHICAGO will really connect with listeners."
"I'm proud to be a member of the BLACKHAWKS with the chance to broadcast a show on WGN Radio in the great city of CHICAGO," said CARCILLO, who joined the HAWKS after spending the last five seasons with the PHILADELPHIA FLYERS and PHOENIX COYOTES. "I've always been fascinated with songs and songwriters that tell a story and this will be an amazing outlet to tell my own story through music. When I first walked into the WGN Radio music vault and saw all that classic vinyl, I was like a kid in a candy shop."
