Dick Meyer Exits NPR For BBC Post

NPR Executive Editor DICK MEYER is exiting the network to join the BBC as Executive Producer of BBC NEWS AMERICA. MEYER, who will leave NPR effective on DECEMBER 9th, will replace ROME HARTMAN, who recently joined NBC's "ROCK CENTER WITH BRIAN WILLIAMS," at the BBC, starting in FEBRUARY.
MEYER has been serving as Executive Editor of NPR since 2009 after one year as Editorial Director for Digital Media; He came to the network after a stint as Editorial Director of CBSNEWS.COM and, before that, as a producer for the "CBS EVENING NEWS WITH DAN RATHER." At the BBC, he will oversee "BBC WORLD NEWS AMERICA" and BBC.COM, the U.S. edition of the BBC's website.
