540 BROADCASTING CO., a company formed by ROY BURNETTE, is seeking a $289,000 loan from the JACKSON COUNTY (NC) Development Fund to return silent WRGC-A/SYLVA, NC to the air. The station went silent in AUGUST, shut down due to financial considerations by ART SUTTON's GEORGIA-CAROLINA RADIOCASTING CO., the licensee.
The SMOKY MOUNTAIN NEWS reports that BURNETTE plans to increase the station's power to 5.000 watts if he is able to get the loan and acquire the station.
