CBS RADIO News WCBS-A/NEW YORK has made the move to join its sister stations at 345 Hudson Street in Lower MANHATTAN, and FISHBOWL NY's JERRY BARMASH has extensive coverage of the move on the site TODAY (11/5).
WCBS was the last of the CBS RADIO NEW YORK stations to make the move downtown, and switched to the new location FRIDAY at 2p (ET) with anchors STEVE SCOTT and WAYNE CABOT first on the air from the new TRIBECA studio. SCOTT credited PD/ND TIM SCHELD and CE ROB BERTRAND with helping the station make the transition to the new facility and told BARMASH that while it "was a thrill to work" at CBS NEWS' midtown Broadcast Center, "it's a whole different vibe around Hudson Square. It’s a great neighborhood. And, it’s exciting to be under the same roof with friends from our five CBS NY sister stations," noting that he had run into News WINS-A anchor LEE HARRIS and Classic Hits WCBS-F afternoon legend BROADWAY BILL LEE on FRIDAY. "How cool is that?," SCOTT asked.
