The price for RANDY MICHAELS' MERLIN MEDIA's purchase of Religion WKDN/CAMDEN-PHILADELPHIA from HAROLD CAMPING's FAMILY STATIONS is $22.5 million, according to the paperwork filed with the FCC. The sale was announced TUESDAY (NET NEWS 12/6).
In other filings with the FCC, JAMES CRYSTAL ENTERPRISES' JCE LICENSES, L.L.C. is selling Religion WLVJ-A/BOYNTON BEACH, FL to ACTUALIDAD 1040AM LICENSEE, LLC for $2.3 million plus a time brokerage agreement before closing. The buyer, through parent ACTUALIDAD LICENSEE 1020AM, LLC, owns Ethnic WURN-A (RADIO MEGA)/KENDALL-MIAMI, FL and recently bought the construction permit for WURN-F/KEY LARGO.
BIRACH BROADCASTING CORPORATION has applied for a Silent STA for Urban AC KJMU-A (HOT 1340 THE GROOVE)/SAND SPRINGS, OK due to a dispute with the transmitter site's landlord which has locked the licensee out of the site. BIRACH has also applied for a Silent STA for Brokered KXLQ-A/INDIANOLA, LA due to snow causing a power loss.
SHOW LOW SEVENTH-DAY ADVENTIST CHURCH has applied for a Silent STA for noncommercial KSHM/SHOW LOW, AZ due to various problems at the station's tower site.
And NEW YORK PUBLIC RADIO has closed on the purchase of noncommercial WNJY/NETCONG, WNJP/SUSSEX, WNJT-F/TRENTON, and WNJO/TOMS RIVER from NEW JERSEY PUBLIC BROADCASTING AUTHORITY for $1 million plus $1,802,690 in non-cash consideration.
