CBS Urban WVEE (V103) was the huge winner 12+, 18-34, 18-49, and 25-54 in the summer, beating their next closest competitor by several shares. No one even came close to V103 in any of the cells ... While V103 was the dominant station, hometown COX was the leading cluster with adults 25-54. COX's had four of the top five stations in the demo with Urban AC WALR (#2), News/Talk WSB-AM (#3), Classic Rock WSRV (#4), and AC WSB-FM (#5) ... The top 40 battle between CUMULUS's WWWQ (Q100) and LINCOLN FINANCIAL's WSTR (Star 94) remained competitive. Q100 beat Star 94 comfortably 18-34 (actually knocking Star 94 out of the top ten in the cell). However, the stations were tied 18-49 and Star 94 won comfortably 25-54 ...CLEAR CHANNEL's Atlanta cluster, which has undergone massive changes over the last year, saw Active Rock WKLS move into the top 10 25-54 - but saw the other FM's rank 16th, 17th, and 20th respectively ... Country lost shares this book - with CITADEL's WKHX and CLEAR CHANNEL's WUBL both off 25-54, and CITADEL's WYAY flat.

Miami: Hot 105 Rises To Top 18-49,25-54; WFLC Wins AC Battle; Y100 Solid

COX Urban AC WHQT (Hot 105) surged to the top of the market among adults 18-49 and 25-54. The station vaulted all the way from seventh to first 18-49 and moved from second to first 25-54 ... In the 18-34 cell, the battle between BEASLEY Rhythmic WPOW (Power 96) and COX Urban WEDR (99 Jamz) got tighter. Meanwhile, CLEAR CHANNEL Top 40 WHYI (Y100.7) - which had huge growth from winter to spring - continued to see increases in the summer book ... Among Spanish-language stations, UNIVISION Spanish Contemporary WAMR was the dominant force, ranking second 18-49 and 25-54. The only station even close was SBS Spanish Oldies WCMQ in the 25-54 demo - where it ranked seventh. However, several Spanish stations rebounded in shares this book - including SBS Latin Pop WRMA and UNIVISION Tropical WXDJ ... The AC race in Miami has a new winner as COX's WFLC topped LINCOLN FINANCIAL's WLYF among adults 25-54.

Seattle: Movin' Still Strong; KMPS Regains Country Lead; KMTT, KZOK 25-54 Winner

While we have noted that the "Movin'" brand has struggled in most of its markets so far, it continues to perform well in the Seattle market - where it first debuted. SANDUSKY Rhythmic AC KQMV was #2 among persons 18-34, #7 18-49, and #8 25-54 - all respectable rankings ... The heated Country battle between CBS heritage outlet KMPS and ENTERCOM's new KKWF (The Wolf) saw KMPS regain control. The summer book saw KMPS soar into a tie for fourth 18-34, climb to second 18-49,and move into third place among adults 25-54. This places them ahead of KKWF in all demos ... There's a tie for the lead 25-54 among ENTERCOM Triple A KMTT and CBS Classic Rock KZOK. KMTT moved from seventh in the spring all the way to the top. Meanwhile, KZOK was #1 in the Spring all alone and is now tied ... While "Jack-FM" is doing well in most markets (and saw an up Summer book) - it had an off book here in Seattle - sliding to 17th 25-54.

Phoenix: No Contest As 'La Nueva' Dominates; KESZ, KPKX Share 25-54 English Lead

UNIVISION Regional Mexican KHOT (La Nueva) remained a dominant #1 across the 18-34, 18-49, and 25-54 cells this book. KHOT had a comfortable lead in all cells ... In the 25-54 cell, CLEAR CHANNEL AC KESZ and BONNEVILLE Adult Hits KPKX (The Peak) both posted sharp gains to tie for the #2 overall position and the top spot among English-language stations ... The battle for 25-54 shares was pretty tight - with CLEAR CHANNEL News/Talk KFYI, sister Hot AC KMXP, and CBS Classic Hits KOOL all tying for fourth ... In the Country race, CLEAR CHANNEL's KNIX took the lead from CBS's KMLE ... A lot of talk in Phoenix has been about the launch of CBS Rhythmic KZON (101-5 Jamz) and how it would impact a plethora of stations in the market. It is very clearly too early to tell. KZON was actually down from its Spring numbers as FM Talk "Free FM" - although one can imagine that they have completely shifted audience. CLEAR CHANNEL Top 40 KZZP held steady 18-34, but saw erosion 18-49 and 25-54. RIVIERA Rhythmic KKFR was off slightly - but still above winter numbers - and still a significant player 18-34. We will have a better gauge after this next book ... SIERRA H. Rhythmic Oldies KAJM topped TRUMPER Rhythmic AC KMVA (Movin' 97.5) among adults 25-54 as KMVA suffered significant drops 18-49 and 25-54.
