BALTIMORE: WERQ, WPOC Remain Ahead Of The Pack
It's no surprise as RADIO ONE Urban WERQ and CLEAR CHANNEL Country WPOC led the BALTIMORE market again in the SPRING book. WERQ was miles ahead 18-34 and won 18-49. Meanwhile, WPOC took 25-54 honors.
18-34: This market remains WERQ, and everyone else in the demo. In a sense, WERQ is the only local station regularly targeting 18-34. WERQ was up over four shares and landed just north of a 20 share in demo, yes a 20 share. Next up was HEARST Active Rock WIYY, who was off 2.3 shares, and trails WERQ by 11.3 shares in demo. WPOC was third in the demo. CBS Hot AC WWMX (+0.7) was fourth, while RADIO ONE Urban AC WWIN (+0.2) rounded out the top five.

Third was WIYY (+0.2) at just over a seven share. WWIN (-0.4) was fourth, and WWMX (+1.0) was fifth, as the same stations (in a different order) were the top five in both 18-34 and 18-49 adults. Sixth was CBS AC WLIF (-0.6). TIMES SHAMROCK Classic Rocker WZBA (+0.8) moved from eighth to seventh, passing CBS Adult Hits WQSR (JACK-FM), which slid 0.4. CBS Talk WHFS (+0.7) was ninth, while CLEAR CHANNEL Smooth Jazz WSMJ (+0.3) tied with HEARST News/Talk WBAL.
25-54: WPOC was a big winner in this demo, growing a full share to climb over the eight share plateau to move past WWIN (-1.0) who ranks second. WERQ scored a good book here as well (+0.6), while WIYY (+0.3) finished fourth. WLIF retained its fifth spot (up 0.6). Moving into the sixth spot 25-54 was WWMX (+0.3). WZBA saw a nice 0.7 jump to move from eighth to seventh, moving them past WQSR (-0.4). WBAL (+0.3) and WSMJ (flat), tied for ninth.
SACRAMENTO: KSFM, KDND, KBMB Solid 18-34, 18-49; KSEG #1 25-54

18-34: KSFM widened its lead over the pack in demo. KSFM was up 2.5 shares, and moved over an 11 share in demo, giving it a four-share lead over the three stations tied for second. ENTRAVISION Rhythmic KBMB (+0.8), ENTERCOM Top 40 KDND (-0.3), and ENTERCOM Rock KRXQ (-1.3). Up in the 18-34 cell was CBS Hot AC KZZO (+1.5). ENTERCOM Alternative KWOD (+0.1) finished sixth. 18-49: KSFM (+1.4) took the 18-49 demo away from KRXQ this book (-0.3) by seven tenths. Climbing from fifth to third was KDND (+1.4), while KBMB leaped 0.7 to grab the fourth spot. That put them in a tie with KNCI (+0.6). KSEG (+0.6) was seventh, while CBS AC KYMX (+0.3) moved into seventh. Eighth was KFBK (+0.6), KHTK (-0.4) was ninth, tying them with CBS Adult Hits KQJK (+0.1). Falling out of the top ten was KHYL, which lost two shares.
25-54: The winner 25-54 was KSEG, who moved from third place last book, thanks to a 1.1 share gain. Second was KFBK (+0.9), while KNCI now ranks third (+1.0).
