Cleveland October 2010: Soft Rock Firm In Cleveland
CBS RADIO AC WDOK (SOFT ROCK 102.1), with 9.2 P6+, continues a three month surge (see Snapshot Trends below) in OCTOBER coming within tenths of share of #1 CLEAR CHANNEL Classic Hits WMJI (MAJIC 105.7) with 9.5, and winning P25-54 for the second month in a row. CLEAR CHANNEL Talk WTAM-A was third P6+ with 7.1.
There's no doubt that CLEVELAND rocks hard, too, as CBS Classic Rocker WNCX goes #4 to #1 P18-34, followed by CLEAR CHANNEL Rocker WMMS going #3 to #2t with CLEAR CHANNEL Top 40 WAKS (96-5 KISS FM). Both WMMS and WNCX had significantly greater shares P18-34 than they did P25-54, where they ranked #3 and #4 respectively.

San Antonio October 2010: Battlefield San Antonio
Format battles were intense again in OCTOBER in SAN ANTONIO. P6+ winners were #1 COX RADIO Classic Hits KONO (7.1), #2 COX RADIO Country KCYY (6.5) and #3 CLEAR CHANNEL Top 40 KXXM (MIX 96.1) 6.0.
Top 40: Could it be tighter? MIX 96.1 beat UNIVISION RADIO Top 40/Rhythmic KBBT (THE BEAT 98.5) by the slimmest possible margin P6+ (6.0 vs. 5.9), while BORDER MEDIA Top 40 KTFM scored a 2.9. MIX had just a little more breathing room in other demos, ranking #1 vs. THE BEAT #2 P18-34 and #7 vs. THE BEAT #9t P25-54.
Country: KCYY and CLEAR CHANNEL Country KAJA (KJ97) were close, too as KCYY beat KJ97 6.5 vs. 5.8 P6+ but traded relative positions through the upper demos. KJ97 won P18-34 (#3 vs. KCYY’S #4). KCYY won P18-49 (#2 vs. #3 KJ97), and KJ97 won P25-54 (#4 vs. #5 KCYY). And there was no tie-breaker in MORNINGS, as both stations’ morning shows were just as close.
Classic Hits: KONO and CLEAR CHANNEL Classic Rock KZEP traded places since last month atop P25-54 with KONO #1 this time. KONO held onto its #1 spot vs. #2 KZEP P35-64, but KZEP ranks #1 in both demos with MEN.

Kansas City October 2010: Chiefs Boost Two In K.C.
KANSAS CITY CHIEFS flagship CUMULUS Classic Rock KCFX (101 THE FOX) scored in OCTOBER maintaining their #1 position P6+ (7.4), but weren’t the only ones who got the CHIEFS kiss. UNION BROADCASTING Sports WHB-A, who brokered an unusual split rights deal for CHIEFS programming this season (see NET NEWS 2/4/10), also had a great OCTOBER going from #10t to #4 P25-54 and P35-64, and into the Top 3 in all male demos.
ENTERCOM Active Rock KQRC was #2 P6+ with 6.4, while CARTER BROADCASTING Urban KPRS was #3 with 6.3.
P18-34 is wide open with KPRS leading KQRC, CUMULUS Top 40/M KCHZ, ENTERCOM Alternative KRBZ (96.5 THE BUZZ), and WILKS Top 40 KMXV (MIX 933), each of whom has been in the Top 3 in the past three months.
P25-54 is different, as KANSAS CITY’S rockers are steady at the top with KCFX, KQRC, and KRBZ ranking #1, #2, #3 for three straight months.
COUNTRY maneuvers: WILKS BROADCASTING Country KBEQ, ENTERCOM Country WDAF, and WILKS BROADCASTING Country KFKF dance around each other as KFKF leads the trio P18-34 (#7 vs. KBEQ #8t and WDAF #11t), but KBEQ leads in the upper demos (#5 P25-54 vs. #8t WDAF and #19 KFKF). KBEQ (#5) narrowly leads WDAF (#6) P35-64.
Big fat MORNINGS: AFENTRA’S BIG FAT MORNING BUZZ show on 96.5 THE BUZZ has added 120% share growth P25-54 and gone from #18 to #3 over the past four months.Snapshot Trends (3 consecutive months, up or down)

Trending DOWN - KFKF (P6+, P18-34, P18-49, P25-54, P35-64), CUMULUS Adult Hits KCJK (105.1 JACK FM) (P6+, P18-34, P18-49, P25-54, P35-64), WILKS BROADCASTING AC KCKC (STAR 102.1) (P6+, P18-49, P25-54), KCFX-FM HD-2 (P18-34, P18-49)
Las Vegas October 2010: Sunny 106.5 New #1
CLEAR CHANNEL AC KSNE (SUNNY 106.5) moved to the top spot in LAS VEGAS in OCTOBER (7.4 P6+), changing positions inside a Top 3 that featured the same stations that were there in SEPTEMBER, but in new positions. BEASLEY Classic Hits KKLZ moves up to #2 (7.1) and LOTUS Spanish Adult Hits KWID (101.9 LA PRECIOSA) drops to #3 (6.3).
P18-34: LA PRECIOSA is #1 followed by UNIVISON Regional Mexican KISF and CBS RADIO Top 40/Rhythmic KLUC. BEASLEY Alternative KVGS had a huge OCTOBER jumping from #10t to #4.
P25-54: KKLZ has yo-yoed over the past three months going from #1 to #5 back to #1 in OCTOBER. SUNNY 106.5 and CBS RADIO Hot AC KMXB (MIX 94.1) were #2 and #3 respectively.
